For Resident Evil: Afterlife (The 4th film)

This guy, of famous jail escapades:

is going to play as this guy, of famous bioterror escapades:

No striking resemblances? Maybe their older variations are much more comparable.

I really, REALLY, want to see Wentworth Miller training his arms to Chris Redfield's impossible bulging proportions.

Coraline is one of the better shows I've seen recently. Damn near accurate portrayal of the (graphic) novel, only difference is the inclusion of a new character.

Definitely not a show for kids, even though the beginning may be somewhat sugary and princess-like, the twist (which you can probably see a mile away) takes the audience on for a far darker ride. WHEE SENTENCES LADEN WITH CLICHED PHRASES.

Well-worth the 10 bucks for the 3D.

on the other hand, I think I'm getting a fever.
And I bought this:

I'm pretty glad I'm watching Kimi ni Todoke. It's one of the, if not THE, most heartwarming shows this season. Everything just totally has this feel-good vibe, occasionally teetering into the "almost too good to be true" territory.

Basic premise is our main heroine, Kuronuma Sawako, nicknamed Sadako (cute horrifying ghost from The Ring) because of the uncanny resemblance. For some strange reason her face and demeanor appears, to almost 99% of any living thing around her, to be scary/ creepy. She greatly admires Kazehaya-kun from afar, he is "100% refreshing" and is able to draw in people with his personality. She yearns to be like him and makes lots of friends, whilst being able to lead a normal school life. Her motto is "Do one deed of kindness everyday!"

Unfortunately, that's where her inherent scariness is hampering her.
However, she's gradually managing to "affect those around her", according to the synopsis.

Look at this scene from episode 2.
The class is changing seats during one homeroom period, and everyone is terrified of being placed next to Sawako due to several rumors ("I heard xxx-kun fell sick for one week after sitting next to her!" "xxx-chan grades dropped horribly sitting behind her!").

Here's where the "feel-good" comes in. Sawako is assigned the 2nd window seat from the back (WHY DO MAIN CHARACTERS ALWAYS GET THIS SIT!? I must grab this position next time) and everyone is scrambling to see whether they are placed near her. Seeing this, Kazehaya picks up his table and carries it to right beside her. Also, Yano and Yoshida, two girls who warmed up to Sawako in the first ep, elected to not pick their seating places and instead, went over to sit around her. Yoshida actually wanted to sit behind her, thus completing the "circle", but that bald guy behind was adamant in keeping his seat (and it was funny how Yoshida tried and failed to convince him to switch).

Me describing this scene isn't (as usual) doing it any justice. The emotions awakened just watching this is simply amazing, how the 3 of them opted to sit around her. Having friends like this... would make anybody's day. Obviously, you get shots of Sawako's face and eyes welling up with tears.

Also, Sawako gives them cookies. LOL!

<Odin> Women are fundamentally amplifiers.
<Odin> Anything you give them expect to get back multiplied
<Odin> give them money you don't have in the form of a credit card, expect a huge debt
<Odin> give them a little love, and they'll give you a lot of love back
<Odin> give them a little DNA in the bedroom
<Odin> and they give you a baby
<Odin> So if you give them crap, you'd better be ready to recieve a ton of shit

Wow. For anyone who watches anime: just like how Singtel Mio is monopolizing the soccer channels, gg fansubs is subbing almost every single show that has not been licensed by Crunchyroll.

This is wtfh4x. Also, I am trashing Sunderland over and over with Man Utd JUST BECAUSE.

About bowling:

I love how I can go into the 5th frame with something like

0 -, 1 1, 4 5, 2 3, 2 7
resulting in a total of 24 points, last place in my lane, due to a complete lack of interest and desire to end the game so that we can go home earlier,

and because of constant ribbing and niao-ing,

I got fed up and went on with

Strike, Strike, Spare, Strike, Strike 7 -

and end up with around 130 points and first place in my lane.

It was funny to see some jaws drop.

The one critical flaw of my own person is being mired in this neurotic mixture of regret, indecisiveness and second guessings of what-ifs that more often than not is will sapping.

I'm sure that I'm not the only one, nor will I be the first or last to worry about whether there are certain choices that I could have made with regards to my personal well-being (not exclusive to actual physical health, but in fact more pertinent is the social aspect). There's this conflicting need to be alone and yet to be in need of people's attention (shamefully to admit, even for the pettiest of reasons) that wracks me at times like this, late night, with accesses to distractions completely cockblocked (e.g. my PSP is charging right now I CAN'T PLAY DISSIDIA)

The ravenous bordering on obsessive hunger for more, not merely just knowledge, more on a highly metaphysical level also bothers me to the edge of sanity (not saying I'm going mad, but I'm afraid I might eventually). Put it simply and singaporean-ly, I am DAMN kaypoh (it doesn't quite sum up how I feel but it feels apt... maybe not I think it's horribly indescriptive, thou I'm at wit's end as to how to go about airing this grievance). I just feel this compulsion to be aware of as many facts and truths as possible in areas of my interest (which interestingly has grown to include cooking I AM SUDDENLY NOWADAYS LOOKING OVER MY MOM'S SHOULDER WHEN SHE COOKS IN THE KITCHEN -_-).

Contradictions arise from such, as devoting time to something restricts the amount to be spent on others, easily exemplified by the me currently wasting much seconds on DISSIDIA for the past 15 days, resulting in having utterly lost track of... alot of things, mildly put. There is absolutely no chance of being able to satisfy myself other than having the ability to stop time, accumulate more time, or go back in time. TIME, is my mortal enemy.

To summarise, I'm afflicted by a terrible disease, which is the incapability of penning down my exact feelings, but am still doing it in the hopes of disemboweling the nauseating monster gnawing the back of my mind and allowing it to rest in piece peace until its next feeding.

This is not making sense at all (as usual) I'm going back to playing DISSIDIA. -wails-

P.S. Certainly hoping that anyone bothering to read this does not lower their opinion of me.

P.S.S. A quiet prayer to the victims. Our world be a better place to live in.

Saturday was spent on A.C.M.E. (A Certain Magical Event) held at NAFA.
Today was spent on Library Sale @ Expo.
The weekend felt strangely fulfilling.. A case of Retail Therapy?

Stuff I bought
ACME
1) K-ON! desk mat

2) Megami 10th Anniversary Magazine

(credits to thedisjointedzone for picture)

Library Sale
I think I picked out over 20+ books (and had an eye on 20 more!) but in the end, due to the restraint I had already placed on myself, bought only 5 books. There were so many more that I wanted!

1) Number Ten by Sue Townsend
2) Nothing for you, Love by Helen Muir
3) Year's Best SF 9
4) Exile's Return (Book 3 of the Conclave of Shadows) by Raymond E. Feist - FINALLY I can complete this darn series.
5) Barry Trotter and the Unnecessary Sequel by Michael Gerber - what can I say. ELL O' ELL  =D

I've neglected this for more than a month! Slightly. Partially due to my monitor finally cracking and running screaming and blinking into the graveyard around 2 weeks back. Which means I didn't use the Internet for around that amount of time. Woe is me.

The good news is, it doubled as a catalyst for my purchasing a brand new, component hand-picked spunky funky computaahh. My old one was spluttering, feeble, and it showed when I tried to watch almost anything.

So now this new kid on the block can let me watch wide-screen, 1920x1800 full-high-def (!!!), without pausing a single bit in its stride for more A-goodness! Wa, ka, ka. Plus I can maybe play a few games that aren't too taxing (I didn't really get a up-to-date GFX card). I think I should be able to game Diablo III when it comes out without swapping any parts.

Really now, it runs like a dream after having used my DELL for SEVEN years. Emphasize on DELL AND SEVEN YEARS.

for showandboredom, screenies?

Hmmm I resized them to 800x600 but they look kinda small... =S

One giant-hippogriff of a messy adaptation!

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince gets a 2/5 for me, having read and re-read the book itself OVER 9000 times.

Yes the directors of the Potter movies have been taking some liberties with the story, but this was OTT, the very best example being changing the entire scene where Harry visits Ron's house for Christmas.
Book: Rufus Scrimgeour and Percy make an appearance, Rufus trying to coerce Harry into revealing the discussions between himself and Dumbledore.
Film: The perimeter of the abode is engulfed by bright orange flames, as Bellatrix and Fenrir lure Harry (and the oh-i'm-so-gonna-snog-Harry-soon inflicted Ginny, following our hero for mentioned reason) out into long willowgrass ala Signs (starring Mel Gibson and Joaquin Phoenix) and attempt to kill him by sniping with shiny white bursts. Then they burst through the Weasley house and cause it to explode, making everyone pull long sad faces.

WTF!?

Anyway, smexy parts of film for me.
-Ginny hugs Harry.
-Ginny ties Harry's shoelaces (the suggestions are convulsing)
-Ginny makes oogling eyes at Harry o_O o_O o_O o_O
-Ginny feeds Harry a pie with "Open up, you." (:
-Ginny snogs Harry in the cluttered but empty Room of Requirement, instead of in the midst of euphoric everybodies right after Quidditch Final. Which means they could have done so. much. more.
-Ginny makes more bedroom eyes at Harry

Whatever, just watch the show.
Also, to spoil the film. THERE IS NO CLIMATIC FINAL BATTLE.
Harry chases the Death Eaters in deathly silence. The only loud volume is Harry uttering "FIGHT BACK! YOU COWARD, FIGHT BACK!"
WHERE THE HECK IS PHOENIX GUARD + KIDS VS DEATH EATERS!?
WHERE THE HECK IS DUMBLEDORE'S FUNERAL? Blasphemous =(

COSFEST VIII
IT'S A VERY HAPPY EVENT.

Somehow took less photos than last year. Cos maybe I didn't go with a camwhore this time -coughmissVycough- (:
Then again last year I didn't pose with any cosplayers also! Today's cosfers also like nothing special. Or maybe I wasn't paying enough attention because only book out from camp this morning -cough(T_T)cough-

The performances were very funny. Actually the emcee was more humorous than the performers. He jabbed them without a care, even going as far as saying some of the female cosfers look like "Boy George". Thanks Emcee.

OH YES DAWN YEOH WAS THERE. BUT I NEVER TAKE HER PHOTO. She was in the panel of judges. -isIMMENSELYsad-

2 girls butchered the song Oblivious. Kalafina is readying their knives. And Shiki is going to Mystic Eyes of Death Perception them.

I bought a Mio badge. I hereby proclaim allegiance to the moeness of Mio forever and ever. MOE MOE KYUN~

I drank Sweet Talk Bubble Tea for the 3 times today. Diabetes~
